Tokyo, Japan (ANI) Japan is currently confronting a major social concern defined as "super-aged society." This occurs when people belonging to the age group of 65 years and above account for at least 20 percent of the population. Henceforth to comfort the old ones a new innovation is the need of the hour.
An exhibition was recently held in Tokyo which showcased comprehensive ideas, tools, and devices to support people involved in the nursing and Medicare. Many patrons seemed curious about the recent development of technology in this field.
In general, easy to eat meals is made for the elderly people such as rice porridge, but this usually deteriorates. However, this newly developed meal retains the look of the usual meal along with accommodating the soft texture for the elderly people.
The director of food company stated, "we had developed this ordinary looking meal so that elderly people could still savor eating suitable healthy food."
There is also a karaoke set where elders can sing while exercising. This karaoke set can be enjoyed by all the generations.
The director of the karaoke company informed that the exercising images were developed in collaboration with the university experts. "It would be an absolute pleasure for us if the elderly people have fun with Karaoke and gymnastics while exercising. By doing so, they would stretch out the body parts. These improvements would certainly make the elderly more energetic while expanding their lifespan," the director added.
There is a particular problem to keep up the number of care workers with the increase in the number of elderly people. At the same time, it is also necessary to reduce the work burden of care workers. There is a device which would help the family member of elderly people to become their care worker. This wheelchair device is installed in a small car type which can be easily used with a normal wheelchair.
The director of the car company cited that these latest welfare cars can be small in size but they are equipped with electric wheelchair elevator and it can be easily controlled with a remote control device. The device could be operated without any problem even if the operator is weak or the elderly person is heavy.
The "super-aged society" is facing a lot of hurdles and in order to overcome them, it's necessary to lend an ear to the people who are most familiar with the situation.(ANI)
