White house on lockdown post-suicide attempt by gunman

Washington D.C. [USA], Mar. 3 (ANI): The White House on Saturday went on a lockdown after a man shot himself in the North Lawn of the President's house.
A team of secret service officials and other staff members was dispatched to the location of the incident to ensure safety in and around the White House.
The incident took place in the absence of the US President Donald Trump as he was on a visit to Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. The security team has further briefed the President about the incident.
The gunman has not been identified yet and the degree of his injuries has not been established.
The US Secret service took to its Twitter account to inform about the incident.
"Secret Service personnel are responding to reports of a person who allegedly suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound along the north fence line of (the) White House.", US secret service tweeted.
The secret service further informed that no one else has been injured apart from the gunman.
According to the Mirror, Geoff Bennett, the NBC News White House Correspondent was among the group of people who were working inside, while the incident took place. (ANI)
