Washington D.C. [USA], Feb. 16 (ANI): U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a fresh warning to those responsible for leaks from Washington to the media saying 'they will be caught'. "Leaking, and even illegal classified leaking, has been a big problem in Washington for years. Failing @nytimes (and others) must apologize!," Trump tweeted on Thursday. "The spotlight has finally been put on the low-life leakers! They will be caught!," he followed. This comes as the Trump administration has been beleaguered by damaging leaks over its first month, including reports of former national security advisor Michael Flynn's contact with a Russian ambassador that led to the his resignation. Flynn had initially denied discussing sanctions with the Russian ambassador during the transition. Vice-President Pence also defended him in front of the media. But when reports suggested last week that sanctions may indeed have been discussed, he conceded that he could not remember with 100 percent certainty. In the resignation letter, Flynn said it was 'unfortunate' he 'inadvertently' briefed Vice President Pence with incomplete information regarding his phone calls with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak. Earlier on Wednesday, Trump had expressed concern over the leaks saying the classified information is illegally given out by "intelligence" like candy which he described as "Very un-American". "The real scandal here is that classified information is illegally given out by "intelligence" like candy. Very un- American!" Trump said in a tweet. Meanwhile on Thursday, Trump also commented on reports of stock market hitting a new high. "Stock market hits new high with longest winning streak in decades. Great level of confidence and optimism - even before tax plan rollout!," he tweeted. (ANI)
