New York [U.S.A.], October 2 (ANI): San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz has said she would meet with U.S. President Donald Trump, when he visits the hurricane-affected Puerto Rico on Tuesday if he asks for it.
"If he asks to meet with me, of course I will meet with him," she said
"Anything that can be done and anyone that will listen," she added.
Cruz also said there is only one goal in the response to Hurricane Maria and it's "saving lives."
"Any dialogue that goes on just has to be able to produce results," she said.
Trump on Saturday lashed out at Cruz in a series of tweets after she criticised the storm response in an emotional plea for federal help.
"The mayor of San Juan, who was very complimentary only a few days ago, has now been told by the Democrats that you must be nasty to Trump," Trump tweeted.
"Such poor leadership ability by the mayor of San Juan, and others in Puerto Rico, who are not able to get their workers to help," he added. (ANI)
