The Customs department officials said that on the basis of profiling done by the officers of the AIU batch, one passenger was intercepted at the green channel who arrived from Kuwait in an Indigo's flight no. 6E-1758.
"During the examination of the said passenger, one white coloured stripe, suspected to be gold in a compound form totally weighing 281.88 grams concealed in the specially stitched cavity of jeans pants worn by the passenger were recovered and seized," the customs department added.
As many as six passengers were intercepted, while one was arrested by the Coimbatore Directorate of Revenue Intelligence who brought gold in concealment from Sharjah, informed officials on Monday.
