Former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh and National President of Samajwadi Party, Akhilesh Yadav has said that his party would win Mainpuri by-elections.
Voting began at 7 am in the Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh and six assembly seats in Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

A day ahead of the Mainpuri Lok Sabha bypoll, Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (Lohia) president Shivpal Singh Yadav on Sunday alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is sabotaging the Lok Sabha by-polls as drones are being used to monitor his party workers and his home.
Assistant District Election Officer, Mainpuri, Ram Mishra said that the state police, Provincial Armed Constabulary, and paramilitary forces have been deployed.
