550th Guru Nanak Jayanti: 1st batch of devotees leave for Gurdwara Nankana Sahib

Amritsar (Punjab), Nov 21 (ANI): Over 1227 Sikh devotees left for Pakistan to visit the famed Gurdwara Nankana Sahib on Wednesday. A total of 3800 visas have been granted to Sikh pilgrims. The journey is taking place under special permissions from Indian and Pakistani governments on the occasion of Sikh spiritual leader, Guru Nanak’s 550th birth anniversary. Located in the Punjab province of Pakistan, the Gurdwara Nankana Sahib is famed as Guru Nanak’s birthplace. Guru Nanak Jayanti is largely celebrated around the world as the birth of the first Guru of the Sikhs.
