Amid protest, people come out to watch ‘Padmaavat’

Pune (Maharashtra), Jan 25 (ANI): After much ruckus created over the issue of release of movie ‘Padmaavat’, people have rushed to theatres to watch the movie with great anticipation on its first day of its release on Thursday. Amid threats by the protestors, mainly the Rajput Karni Sena, there seems to be no effect on the movie goers as they are rushing to cinema to watch the highly anticipated film without fear. Ahead of the release, buses were vandalised, effigies were burnt by protesters. In cities like Gurugram, Delhi, Mumbai, security guards were assigned positions at various cinema halls. On Tuesday, a special screening of ‘Padmaavat’ was organised in different cities. After watching the film, everyone condemned the protests that are being carried out by the members of Shri Rajput Karni Sena. The Supreme Court has directed no one can ban the film after Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan and Gujarat decided to ban its screening. The film has been alleged of containing historically inaccurate content and thus hurting the sentiment of various Rajput groups.
