Updated:1 month ago IST

Doda (J&K), July 20 (ANI): The natural beauty of Kashmir might be attracting more and more tourists from all across the state and the country but Bhaderwah region in J&K’s Doda is developing itself as a favorite destination for ‘honeybee tourism’ as well. The honeybees are on the verge of extinction which could be disastrous for whole ecosystem in the region. Few bee keepers in and around Bhaderwah town are working hard to tap the potential of the natural resources important for keeping the honeybees intact and produce the good quality honey. As on one side they earn their livelihood by producing the honey and selling it in the market and on the other hand, tourists also get attracted and visit the areas to get the look of bee keeping. While speaking to ANI, honeybees keeper Muhammad Shabir said, “We bring honeybees here in the month of April and remain here till August end. We produce best quality honey and sell it in the market and to tourists. Some other locals have also started this business and all of us are doing well,” Shabir said.
