Bhubaneswar (Odisha), Jan 21 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) women’s wing staged protest against Naveen Patnaik-led Odisha government on Monday. The protestors demanded ‘Justice for Babina’, which is also the name of their campaign. BJP’s women’s wing distributed red bangles to signify that the bangles are powerful too. Scuffle broke out between protestors and the police resulting in numerous detentions. Babina was a young woman of 19 years from a Dalit family from Pipili in Puri district, who was gang-raped in 2011. Protestors were agitated over the lack of timely justice for the victim. They claimed that the government let the perpetrators off the hook. Although the victim had succumbed to her injuries the quest for justice still lives on.
