New Delhi, Jan 30 (ANI): Supreme Court lawyer Ajay Aggarwal, a petitioner in the Bofors case, has written a letter to Attorney General KK Venugopal requesting him to direct the CBI to immediately file a reply affidavit in the case with all necessary documents. Alleging the previous UPA government, Aggarwal said the UPA government and Rajiv Gandhi's family was involved so they wanted to sweep this case under the carpet. "The case would've been heard in 2009-10 but due to conspiracy by UPA government it couldn't be," added Aggarwal. The Bofors scandal, relating to alleged payment of kickbacks in procurement of Howitzer artillery guns, rocked the then government under Rajiv Gandhi in the early 1990s. The scandal triggered a massive political storm and led to the fall of his government.
