Central University should have sought clarification from professors before issuing showcause notices: Teachers Association president

Gandhinagar (Gujarat), Apr 28 (ANI): The Central University of Gujarat has issued showcause notices to nine of its professors for attending Congress party function and campaigning for anti-BJP candidates, reacting to the notices Gujarat President of Teachers Association Sony Kunjappal on Friday said that Central University should have sought a clarification from the professors. He also said that the professors are being targeted. “Notice issued to us that we as teachers participated & campaigned for a political party (Congress).We have denied this. Notice issued on complaint of ABVP wing but they have denied giving such a complaint,” said Kunjappal. “I think we are being targeted. University should have sought a clarification from us & then issued a notice,” added Kunjappal. The Central University of Gujarat has issued showcause notices to nine of its professors for attending Congress party function and campaigning for anti-BJP candidates, The showcause notices were sent based on a complaint on a letterhead of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidya Parishad (ABVP), However, the ABVP representative of CUG and state-level office employee denied having sent any such complaint.
