Civic polls would not have been concluded peacefully without co-operation from people: J&K Governor

Srinagar (J&K), Oct 21 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Governor Satya Pal Malik on Sunday expressed positive sentiments about the just concluded municipal elections in the state. He said, “These elections have been concluded peacefully. This would not have been possible without police, administration and people. The positive sign about these elections is that people turned out to vote. Slowly people understand the situation and so development is happening.” Municipal elections in the state concluded on October 20. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won 100 seats (24 contested and 76 uncontested), Congress has won 157 seats (79 contested and 78 uncontested) and Independent candidates have won 178 seats (103 contested and 75 uncontested). Indian National Congress (INC) has won all 13 wards of Leh Municipal Committee.
