CM Naidu lays foundation stone for NRT Icon Tower in Amaravati

Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh), Jun 22 (ANI): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu laid the foundation for Icon Tower to be constructed by Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu (APNRT) Society on Friday. The NRT Icon Tower is located in Amaravati’s Rayapudi village. It will become a centre for many NRT owned IT industries. With 11 lakhs of premium offices and residential spaces, this tower is located next to the proposed central park close to the Krishna River. It will have features like revolving restaurants, NRT club, world class auditorium, high end class rooms with state of the art audio video equipment, sustainability features with water and energy conservation etc. It will enable establishment of about a hundred software companies resulting in more than 5000 direct and several thousand indirect jobs. Icon will be built with an exoskeleton weight bearing structure minimising the need for interior columns resulting in increase of usable office space by 6% in addition to aesthetic advantages. The promoter APNRT is planning to raise the entire finance from NRTs avoiding burden to the state exchequer.
