Congress questions credibility of EVMs in Election Commission’s all-party meeting

New Delhi, Aug 27 (ANI): Election Commission on Monday held a ‘meeting with recognised national and state political parties’ in New Delhi. Representatives of parties were present at the meeting. Post the meeting, Congress leader Mukul Wasnik said, “We kept our points for Electronic Voting Machine. In this concern we said that large number of people have doubt that their vote is not going to the party they gave. Many districts complained that EVM is not working properly. People have seen that every button is casting vote to one particular party. This is not good. That is why this VVPAT has been introduced but that will also work when it has been cross checked with EVM. If this cross checking thing is less implemented then what is the profit of VVPAT. We said at least 30% VVPAT should be cross checked.” Congress, ahead of the all-party meeting had again appealed to the EC to hold the upcoming Lok Sabha polls on ballot paper.
