Construction of girls’ hostel for veterinary students underway in Srinagar

Srinagar (J&K) Jan 16 (ANI): Despite severe cold, the construction of new girls’ hostel is on full swing in Srinagar. The aim is to make the infrastructure more comfortable for students of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry in the Valley. The hostel is situated at Faculty of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K) where the girls from different parts of the state are doing post graduation in different streams. But due to the limited space of old hostel and lack of proper facilities students were not comfortable and facing lot of problems especially in winter. The new hostel will have all types of modern facilities including comfortable rooms along with heating arrangements, modern bathrooms with hot water supply and twenty four hours electricity supply. Presently the construction of hostel is almost on the verge of completion and authorities are trying hard to wind up the work at proper time for the benefit of students as they were demanding for this since long time. The new hostel is 2-storeyed along with separate hall for indoor sports activities and after the completion it will accommodate around hundred students.
