Siddharthnagar (UP), Nov 04 (ANI): In a bid to reduce road accidents caused by stray animals, Uttar Pradesh police has started a drive of tying radium bands on the horns and necks of stray cattle. The reflective tapes ensure long-distance visibility, especially caused by fog during the winters. Dr Dharm Veer Singh, Superintendent of Police (SP) said, “Incidents of accidents rise due to cows straying on roads. This is causing inconvenience to police and administration. So we decided to tie radium bands on their horns and belts on their necks to avoid accidents at night.” This initiative has come specially at the onset of winter when road accidents cause loss of lives of these animals due to low visibility at night.
