Cut down school curriculum by half for value, experiential education: Prakash Javadekar

Gurugram (Haryana), Jul 22 (ANI): Union Minister for Human Resource Development Prakash Javadekar attended the launch of Student Police Cadet (SPC) programme in Gurugram on Saturday. He was joined by Union Minister Rajnath Singh, Haryana Chief Minister ML Khattar and Minister of State (Home Affairs) Hansraj Gangaram Ahir. Speaking at the event the Union Minister said, “There is a need for value education, experiential learning, practical knowledge, life skill education and physical education. But where is the time for all this in our school curriculum? That is why we decided to half the current curriculum and lessen it further in the coming future. The motive of education is the need to inculcate disciple and hard work. ” The SPC programme would help in making students responsible citizens by inculcating values of discipline and social responsibility through active police-student interaction.
