Cyclone Titli: Navy deploys helicopters to drop relief materials, rescue ops underway

Onboard, Oct 13 (ANI): The Indian Navy on Saturday released two helicopters with relief material to cyclone affected areas. Relief materials were dropped from helicopters for victims in cyclone-hit areas. Two Naval Chetak helicopters dropped off food supply in accessible areas of Ganjam and Gajapati districts. Food supplies were airdropped at 19 locations in the two districts. Rescue operations in the area are underway. After tropical-cyclone Titli closed in towards Odisha-Andhra Pradesh coast as many as 3,00,000 people have been shifted from vulnerable areas to shelter camps as part of relief and rescue operation, informed Odisha’s Special Relief Commissioner Bishnupada Sethi. Cyclonic storm Titli has left at least eight people dead in Srikakulam and Vijayanagaram districts of Andhra Pradesh.
