Entire nation was with me & my hard work paid off: Gold medalist Vinesh Phogat

Jakarta (Indonesia), Aug 20 (ANI): Women wrestler Vinesh Phogat created history on Monday by becoming the first Indian woman wrestler to clinch a gold medal at the Asian Games 2018. She won the glittering gold medal by brushing aside her rivals with remarkable ease in the 50kg category. Vinesh defeated Japan’s Yuki Irie 6-2 in the 50kg category to win the gold and take India’s tally of gold medals to two at the 18th edition of the Asian Games in Indonesia. Speaking after her victory, Phogat said, “I wanted to give my best and win Gold. Entire nation was with me and my hard work paid off. I believed in myself that I could do this. People are with me and if they continue to be, it’ll be good in Tokyo(Olympics 2020)too.”
