Environmentalist Vimlendu Jha hails Delhi High Court’s ban on tree felling

New Delhi, Jul 04 (ANI): All tree felling have been banned by Delhi High court till further orders with regards to NBCC project. The high court has summoned and served a notice to NBCC chairperson. After the notice the NBCC chief has to be present for every hearing. This is a major decision by the court in the NBCC matter. “The judge said that if it means to dismantled the entire project, we will dismantled the project because there is no planning” said Vimlendu while re-quoting the judge. Vimlendu had filed contempt of court against NBCC after felling of trees continued. NBCC has also been asked to take into consideration the term ‘redevelopment’ and the density of the area. NBCC has been told to submit final details of the project by 26th of this month.
