Mayurbhanj (Odisha), Oct 05 (ANI): Santosh Jena, an employee with General Electrical Department in Baripada Municipality in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district has threatened to commit suicide after he was unable to withdraw his Employee provident fund (EPF) due to some error in his Aadhaar Card. Jena said that his salary is very less and therefore he wanted to withdraw his EPF. However, he was unable to due to wrong entry in his Aadhaar card. He repeatedly appealed district administration for help but no one paid any heed. He also said that if the government does not help him, he will commit suicide. Jena is running from pillar to post since last one year to get his EPF. He approached all the concerned authorities but met with no success. On a related note, last week Supreme Court had upheld the validation of Aadhar card. The SC had ruled the Aadhar card mandatory only for welfare schemes and no private company can make it mandatory.
