In a first, man treated for two life-threatening diseases simultaneously in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Sep 16 (ANI): A multi-speciality hospital in Bengaluru has become the first hospital in the country to treat a patient suffering from two life-threatening diseases simultaneously. A 48-year-old patient, Naresh Barela, was treated of acute myeloid leukemia and Triple Vessel Coronary Artery at the same time at the Narayana Health City Hospital. Clinical Director and Senior Consultant Hematologist, Head Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, Dr. Sharat Damodar said that is was first time that a transplant patient underwent a bypass surgery in the country. He also highlighted how a patient, suffering from two life-threatening diseases, can do well if the treatment is done timely in the right way.
