Govt approves biggest hydropower project in Arunachal, informs Prakash Javadekar

New Delhi, July 17 (ANI): Central Government has approved Dibang Multipurpose Project in Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday. Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar claimed it as ‘biggest hydro project of the nation’. While addressing a press conference in Delhi, Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Prakash Javadekar said, “Biggest hydropower project of the nation, Dibang Multipurpose Project has been approved in Arunachal Pradesh. It's a 2880 MW project.” Dibang Multipurpose Project is a hydropower cum flood moderation scheme proposed on Dibang River in Lower Dibang Valley District of Arunachal Pradesh. The decision was taken under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Several important decisions have been taken.
