Handicraft centers open in Rajouri to empower women

Rajouri (J&K), Jun 25 (ANI): With an initiative to empower women of the far-flung areas, the Centre has introduced skill development programme in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. The girls who have dropped out from their schools or are living in economic austerity join these training centers and learn various handicraft works. Their stipend has been increased from Rs.500 per month to Rs.700 considering their financial problems. This initiative aims to provide self employment to the girls, and also gives special preference to orphans, financially weak women and widows. Till now, more than 23 centers have been opened in the district.
