Heritage Week celebrations kick off in Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir, Nov 21 (ANI): Heritage Week celebrations began in Kashmir to generate awareness about preservation of the state's rich heritage among the people. The museum boasts of large collections of early geological maps, rocks, fossils, meteorites and an eleven-foot-long fossil tusk of a mammoth, retrieved from Jagati Hills in the state. The Heritage Week celebrations will continue till Saturday and special programmes will be held to showcase the cultural heritage and rich biodiversity of the state. Illumination of heritage sites, heritage walks and special cleanliness drives will be undertaken across the state as part of the week.
