New Delhi, Aug 21 (ANI): Imran Khan, who became the 22nd Prime Minister of Pakistan on August 18, thanked cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu for attending his swearing-in ceremony. Imran Khan tweeted, “I want to thank Sidhu for coming to Pakistan for my oath taking. He was an ambassador of peace & was given amazing love & affection by people of Pakistan. Those in India who targeted him are doing a great disservice to peace in the subcontinent - without peace our people cannot progress.” In a following thread, he suggested that, “To move forward Pakistan and India must dialogue and resolve their conflicts including Kashmir: The best way to alleviate poverty and uplift the people of the subcontinent is to resolve our differences through dialogue and start trading”. Sidhu has been surrounded by controversy ever since his visit to Pakistan. He even drew flak for his recent press conference where he said “India has a small heart,” asking India to make peace with Pakistan.
