‘In democracy, effort should be to respect views of Opposition’: LS Speaker

New Delhi, June 19 (ANI): Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on June 19 said that in democracy, decisions should be taken based on a broad consensus and not just majority. LS Speaker Om Birla said, “In democracy, our effort should be to respect views of Opposition members. My attempt has been to give sufficient time to party which has even a single member in the House. In democracy, decisions should be taken based on a broad consensus and not just majority.”
