India sends NDRF teams to quake-hit Turkey, 3 powerful earthquakes in 24 hrs

Ghaziabad (UP), Feb 07 (ANI): India on Feb 06 said that it will despatch rescue and medical teams to Turkey following 3 earthquakes. The decision was led by P.K. Mishra, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, which was attended by the Cabinet Secretary and representatives of relevant Ministries. In this regard, NDRF team along with medical team dispatched in coordination with the government of the Republic of Turkey. About 101 NDRF personnel with specially trained dog squads and necessary equipment flew to quake-hit Turkey for search operations on February 07. Medical teams are also being readied with trained doctors and paramedics with essential medicines. Earlier, Turkey’s Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu announced a Level 4 alert, which includes a call for international aid.
