Indian Navy rescues 109 people from flood-hit town of Thrissur in Kerala

Thrissur (Kerala), Aug 20 (ANI): Indian Navy conducted a successful rescue operation in Kerala’s Thrissur. The team rescued 109 people from heavy currents of flood water on August 19. Heavy rains battered the state of Kerala, resulting in one of the worst floods in a century. Kerala Chief Minister confirmed on August 18 that the death toll due to the floods has risen to 357. Medical aid has been provided to more than 23 thousand people and around 3 lakh food packets have been supplied by the Food Processing Ministry till now.
