Jammu may soon host International Cricket at Maulana Azad Stadium

Jammu, Nov 23 (ANI): The city of Jammu is proud as one of its resident, Manzoor Pandav did well in the field of cricket, when he recently played in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Maulana Azad stadium situated in the heart of the city has now been upgraded to an International Cricket Stadium with International Cricket Council norms and standards. The 40 crore project is being handled by National Projects Construction Corporation Limited (NPCC) under the Prime Ministers’ special package. The work will be completed by March 2019 and soon an international cricket match or an IPL match can be played in the stadium. The stadium will have a well established pavilion, gymnasium, conference hall, open VIP area, media, player zones and galleries. The pitch curator of Feroz Shah Kotla ground has been roped in and the pitch will be one of the fastest in Indian to promote fast bowlers. With coming of this world class cricket facility soon more cricketers from state will represent the country.
