Last rites of Major Chitresh Bisht performed at Haridwar with full military honours

Haridwar (Uttarakhand), Feb 18 (ANI): Mortal remains of slain soldier Major Chitresh Bisht, who lost his life on February 16, while defusing an Improvised explosive device (IED) planted by terrorists in Rajouri's Nowshera sector of Jammu and Kashmir was performed with full military honours at Kharkhari cremation grounds in Haridwar. The State Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj paid homage to the slain soldier. A large number of people gathered at his residence to pay homage to the departed soldier. Uttarakhand Assembly members also paid rich tributes to the jawan. The Army Major's death came just days after a dastardly attack on the CRPF convoy in Pulwama in South Kashmir, which resulted in the death of 40 CRPF jawans on February 14.
