Left parties to protest against crackdown on activists for suspected Maoist links: Yechury

Kolkata, Aug 29 (ANI): The Communist Party of India (Maxist) CPI (M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury on the recent crackdown on activists’ homes by police in Maharashtra, said that the civil liberties are being taken in the name of national security. It is being used for a political objective, he added. “There will be a protest at Jantar Mantar (Delhi) tomorrow by the Left and all progressive groups against the unethical crackdown”, he further added. The accused have been booked under sections 153 A, 505(1) B, 117, 120 B, 13, 16, 18, 20, 38, 39, 40 and UPA after a probe in Bhima Koregaon violence.
