Local politician Ashu Khan receives notice in connection with Jamia violence

New Delhi, Jan 24 (ANI): Delhi Police Crime Branch has issued notice to local political leader Ashu Khan, under Section 160 Cr.PC, asking him to appear before Crime Branch Chanakyapuri on January24 for questioning in connection with Jamia Nagar violence which took place in December 2019. While speaking to ANI in the national capital on January 24, local political leader Ashu Khan said, "This is a false FIR and it is our right to protest and it was a peaceful protest. I have not given any instigating speeches or damaged properties." "This is a movement for our rights and we will not end it," he added. Former Congress MLA has also received notice in connection with violence that broke out Jamia Nagar and nearby areas during protests against Citizenship Amendment Act.
