Mayurbhanj (Odisha), Sep 28 (ANI): Locals rushed a patient to hospital on a cot due to lack of proper roads. A critical patient was again compelled to be carried on a cot to the hospital as ambulance could not reach his village because of inaccessible road conditions. The incident was reported from Kaladiha village under Bangoriposi block of Mayurbhanj district of Odisha, where Sumati Marandi was carried on a cot by his family for nearly one kilometer. Sumati was suffering from diabetes and needed urgent medical attention after her condition was deteriorated today. Due to non-motorable road, neither ambulance nor any other vehicle could reach the village. With no other option, the family rushed Sumati to hospital on a cot with the help of ambulance worker. The road construction work is incomplete due to callous attitude of the Rural Works Department (RWD) and district administration. Not only Sumati, several other villagers in these villages are also afflicted in Mayurbhanj district. Local residents alleged that the district administration is also not paying any attention for the development of infrastructure in the region of Mayurbhanj district of Odisha. "As the approach road conditions are not good so the ambulance cannot reach there but patient are carried by cots, I will talk to concern authority to take necessary action for the approaching road" said Gangadhar Nayak, Additional District Magistrate of Mayurbhanj. This Bangoriposi constituency belongs to Former MP and Minister Sudam Marandi of BJD Government, Odisha.
