Mayurbhanj reverberates of Vedas & Quran recited on same dais

Mayurbhanj (Odisha), Aug 13 (ANI): India is the only multi-religious society in the world where all the four major religions, Hinduism, Islam, Sikhism and Christanity co-exist in complete harmony along with several others practiced across the country. Keeping the spirit alive, an event was organized in the Baripada town of Mayurbhanj district of Odisha inviting all the religious communities under one roof. Take a look. A two-day communal harmony program “Saath Aao Insaan” was organized in Baripada town of Mayurbhanj district in Odisha. It was for the first time in Baripada town that Vedas and Quran Sharif were recited in tandem, showcasing syncretism among two major religions of India. Sharing a dais, a learned Hindu saint and a revered Muslim Quazi sat cross-legged to enlighten the public with underlying information of the holy scriptures followed in Hinduism and Islam. All the community members irrespective of caste, creed, sex, and religion joined hands and lighted candles, symbolizing ‘unity of humanity’ in the multi-religious, multi-cultural society of India. With a belief of ‘One truth, One world, One community’, leaders from all religions attended this festival of humanity. Serving as a vehicle of unity, India beholds an ocean of shared cultural and spiritual values. Events like these develop mutual tolerance, understanding of each other’s cultural traditions and beliefs contributing to the development of a peaceful and harmonious society.
