New facilities added for passengers at Ahmadabad Airport

Ahmadabad (Gujarat), 01 Sept (ANI): In the continual process of improvement of passenger facilities at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmadabad, a State of Art Washroom was recently operationalized at the Domestic Arrival (T1). Decorated with pictures highlighting local flavors of Gujarat and with state of Art music system installed, the men's washroom has been constructed in an area of 200 sq meters and is one of the biggest in the country. About 45 people can use the washroom at one time. Aiming to make create global standards rather than meeting them, a high end restaurant has been inaugurated at the international terminal of Ahmadabad Airport alongside operationalisation of a roof top solar power plant. The director of the Airport says that they not only want to enhance the comfort zone of the commuters, but the Airport is working towards converting comfort zone into the "wow factor". Realizing the importance of utilization of solar energy, a roof top solar power plant too has been operationalised at the international terminal of Ahmadabad airport. SVPI Airport, also known as the Ahmadabad Airport, is the eight busiest Airport in India and in 2017-18 alone, it handled more than 9.2 million passengers. The airport renamed after the first Home Minister of Independent India, SVPI Airport caters to the fliers from both Ahmadabad as well as Gandhinagar in Gujarat.
