Newcastle virus outbreak kills 22 peacocks in Gurugram

Gurugram (Haryana), Jun 02 (ANI): After recent deaths of peacocks in Bhondsi region of Gurugram, the authorities have confirmed outbreak of virulent Newcastle disease virus to be the cause behind the deaths. The virus is known to be fatal for wild birds. Around 50 affected peacocks are undergoing treatment in Gurugram. The report of disease was confirmed by Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Bareilly.
