Nipah virus claims 10 lives, Kerala Health Minister KK Shailaja visits hospital in Kozhikode

Kozhikode (Kerala), May 22 (ANI): At least 10 people have died due to spread of deadly Nipah virus in Kerala. The state is on high alert over the infection. The cause behind the outbreak is said to be bodies of dead bats found in a well near Kozhikode. Most of the affected belonged to regions of Kozhikode and Mallapuram. A nurse has also lost her life in due to the deadly virus. Kerala Health Minister KK Shailaja visited Government Medical College Hospital in Kozhikode to take stock of the situation.
