No compromise on quality in road construction: CM Gehlot

Jaipur (Rajasthan) October 19 (ANI): During the Public Works Department meeting, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that construction and repair of roads in the state are among the priorities of the state government. The CM stressed that officials of the PWD should not compromise on the quality of road construction and the engineers should check the quality of construction works by inspecting them from time to time. He said that it should be ensured that the contractor repairs the roads if they are damaged during the default liability period. The Chief Minister expressed that in eight districts including districts of Dholpur, Karauli, Sawai Madhopur, Tonk and Kota divisions, where the roads are very bad, proposals worth Rs 145 crore have been invited, after examining them. He ordered officials to repair the bad roads in these districts at the earliest. He also directed authorities to repair about 13 to 14 km of a bad patch of road between Bharatpur and Mathura. The Chief Minister said that apart from the budget announcements, a separate approval has been issued for roads worth about Rs. 453 crore. The state government has also approved the construction of roads connecting religious places.
