Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Jan 15 (ANI): Birds, who were injured during the kite flying in Makar Sankranti received medical care in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad. First aid facility being given to victimised birds on the occasion of Makar Sankranti. The kite-flying ritual of the Uttarayana season poses a great risk to birds, for the razor-sharp strings used to fly kites ‘manjha’ often severely injure them. Trustee of Jivdaya Charitable Trust, Vinay Shah said, “Yesterday we received 472 birds and today we have received 230 birds. Initially, we give first aid and surgery is done when required.”
