Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala), Apr 25 (ANI): Residents living near the coastal areas in Thiruvananthapuram have been living under constant fear as the sea has turned rough causing damage to houses near the sea shore. Reportedly, sea erosion caused due to high tides and strong winds has rendered many homeless, leaving their houses in a dilapidated state. A local resident, Shiny appealed to the government to move them to safer grounds. Many people residing near the coastal areas have been evacuated and shifted to safer places. Fishermen have been warned not to go for fishing activities during high tides. Coastal erosion can lead to displacement of land near the sea and removal of beach sediments.
