PM Modi declares 36th National Games open in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Sep 29 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 29 declared the 36th National Games open at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel was also present at the event. India’s top athletes presented the Torch of Unity to the PM at the opening. The contingents of all states and UTs also arrived at the opening ceremony. “In 2014, the series of 'first and best' started in the country. Our youth carried that forward even in sports. 8 years back, Indian athletes participated in less than 100 international events. Now, they participate in over 300 international events,” the PM said.
