PM Modi, President Kovind mourn Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s death

New Delhi, Aug 16 (ANI): President Ramnath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered condolences on the death of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee who died at the age of 93 on Thursday. PM Modi tweeted, “India grieves the demise of our beloved Atal Ji. His passing away marks the end of an era. He lived for the nation and served it assiduously for decades. My thoughts are with his family, BJP Karyakartas and millions of admirers in this hour of sadness. Om Shanti. ” President Kovind tweeted, “Extremely sad to hear of the passing of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, our former Prime Minister and a true Indian statesman. His leadership, foresight, maturity and eloquence put him in a league of his own. Atalji, the Gentle Giant, will be missed by one and all.” The All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Media and Protocol Division confirmed his death in a press release. Ace politician Atal Bihari Vajpayee was battling with life and death situation since past week. He was on life support system as his condition deteriorated in last 36 hours. Several prominent politicians from all over the country visited the hospital to catch a glimpse of Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
