Amaravati (AP), Mar 06 (ANI): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday said Polavaram is a mega project and it is a lifeline to the state. He also emphasised that this mega project will mitigate drought conditions and resolve most of the water problems of the state. Naidu also said that there are some issues which have slowed down the Polavaram project and the state government is resolving the problems and the project is running smoothly. Andhra Pradesh CM added that Polavaram project has been pending since long time and the state government wants it to be completed before 2019. Naidu also added that questions are being raised on why the state government has taken up construction of the national project but they didn’t ask the Centre to give Polavaram project to the state. It was decided in the NITI Aayog meeting and then, Centre handed it over to Andhra Pradesh government.
