Shivpuri (Madhya Pradesh), Sep 11 (ANI): Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) MLA from Pohari constituency Prahlad Bharti on Tuesday blamed the engineers and contractors for the collapse of the bridge constructed on MP’s Kuno River. While shedding off responsibility from his shoulders, MLA Prahlad Bharti said, “Last year in December, I found the bridge to be technically unsound and complained to the Public Works Department (PWD) about it. While the authorities took cognizance of the same and tried to repair it, but the bridge was not technically sound since its inception.” The MLA added, “The negligence was on the part of PWD authorities and they couldn’t even get the correct work done by the contractors.” A newly constructed bridge on Kuno River in Pohari tehsil of Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri district collapsed and washed away due to flooding following heavy rainfall. The bridge was constructed at a cost of 7.78 crore. The bridge was inaugurated by Union Minister of Rural Development, Panchayati Raj and Mines Narendra Singh Tomar three months back on May 29 this year.
