Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala), Jul 19 (ANI): Petitioner in Sabrimala temple case, Rahul Easwar on Thursday reacted on Supreme Court’s verdict, saying he and other petitioners will put forward every spirited, legal and academic defence to the verdict. “Women have been visiting Sabrimala temple, there is only an age regulation,” he told ANI. “In women Sabrimala, males also follow the same rules. They aren’t allowed to perform some pujas,” he further added. “So, this is not gender discrimination but only an age differentiation that we are putting forward. We hope Supreme Court will be culturally sensitive in this case as it was at the time of Jallikattu verdict,” added Easwar. The Supreme Court’s Constitution Bench was observed on July 18. The court heard the issue relating to the ban on entry of women between 10 and 50 years of age inside the Sabarimala temple. “Women’s right to worship is a constitutional one and it does not depend on laws. Everyone is allowed to go in the temple,” as per the verdict.
