Resident doctors turn fruits-sellers to protest against unpaid stipend issue

Aurangabad (Maharashtra), Dec 25 (ANI): The resident doctors of Ghati Hospital in Maharashtra’s Aurangabad, through their novel protest, have set up a fruit stall outside the hospital premises. They are protesting against the unpaid stipend and salary issues. Resident doctors from different government medical colleges have not received the stipend for October and November month. Doctors from medical colleges in Nagpur and Aurangabad staged a silent agitation by sporting black ribbons on their arms and selling fruits outside their campuses. Similar protests are taking place in other medical colleges of Maharashtra as well. Dr. Shivaji Sukre, Vice Dean of Government Medical College and Hospital from Aurangabad said, “Today resident doctors have protested and done strike related to their stipend issue. There was some issue in the budget so there was problem in their stipend as well. Soon, we will give them their stipend”.
