Rhinoceros census begins in Kaziranga National Park

Kaziranga (Assam), Mar 27 (ANI): A two-day rhinoceros census exercise in all ranges of the Kaziranga National Park (KNP) started on Monday. More than 40 elephants, 17 SUVs are being used for the exercise. The exercise is being conducted in all the ranges of the park. KNP authorities along with NGOs, social figures and staff are conducting the rhino census for headcount. More than 40 elephants, 17 SUVs have been used for the exercise. Kaziranga is home to world’s maximum population of one-horned rhinos and it attracts tourists from all across the globe. As per the earlier census reported in 2015, the national park had 2401 rhinos. This year’s census awaits the result of the one-horned rhino population.
