Seer Shivakumara Swami embarks on final journey

Tumkur (Karnataka), Jan 22 (ANI): The mortal remains of the highly revered seer, Shivakumara Swami, were taken on their last journey on Tuesday in Karnataka’s Tumkur. Thousands of followers gathered to pay their last respects to the revered saint. Several prominent politicians too gathered at the cremation ground to be a part of his last rites. Karanataka CM HD Kumaraswamy and Congress leader Siddaramaiah laid wreaths as their last respects. Practitioner of the Lingayat-Veerashaiva faith of Lingayatism from Siddaganga Mutt, Swami lived for gracious 11 years and was held in high regards by politicians across the political spectrum. The state government has declared a three-day state mourning and all schools, colleges and government offices will remain closed.
